My interest in and commitment to graphic arts should be somewhat obvious, but what may not
be as apparent is the obsession in designing the experience of information.
While it was once the role of the fine art communities, advertisers now have the biggest
part in shaping the way the population experiences the world around them. For better or
worse, there is no other field of study that stands to have a stronger impact on the
global viewpoint.
Throughout various projects, my passion has always been
the interaction with information, and the guiding of the viewers' experience, enabling
the access to resources to accomplish my client's goals. Whether that be:
- Volunteer safer sex / AIDS prevention education in the early 90's
- Creation of the Seattle Pride Foundation's newsletter
- Ten years of poster art for nightclubs
- Six years of senior technical support and training for Adobe and RealNetworks
- Print production work for alternative weekly The Stranger
- Web production work for a Disney affiliate
- The full redesign of the ecommerce code deployment system for RealNetworks'
multi-platform, multi-tier website that drives most of the company's revenue
I have always skirted around the edges of advertising and information design, but
never strayed too far from the media industry. Each task has built towards the day
that I would be ready to return to my education - which I hope to do very soon.
